Non-Tidal Ocean Angular Momentum

Non-Tidal ocean angular momentum (OAM) time-series as separated into the contributions of the pressure distribution (matter terms) and horizontal ocean transports (motion terms) are provided for a range of different numerical ocean model experiments that include both unconstrained simulations and ocean state estimates. OAM can be linearly transformed into non-tidal ocean excitation functions as described by Gross (2009).

*FWF: Net-effects of freshwater fluxes from continental (and atmospheric) storages into the oceans are explicitly considered.

*IB: Bottom pressure variations due to the inverse barometric effect are removed.
