Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment Follow-on (GRACE-FO)

GRACE-FO is a joint project between the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences. The key partners of the Science Data System are the University of Texas Center for Space Research (CSR), the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), and GFZ.

The primary science objective of the GRACE-FO mission is to continue obtaining the same extremely high-resolution global models of Earth's gravity field, including how it varies over time, as in the original GRACE mission.

The secondary science objective of the GRACE-FO mission is to continue obtaining about 150 very precise globally distributed vertical temperature and humidity profiles of the atmosphere per day using the GPS radio occultation technique.

GRACE-FO will also demonstrate Laser Ranging Interferometer technology in support of future GRACE-like missions.

To get access via FTP to the different GRACE-FO Level-1 (instrument and orbit data as well as atmosphere and ocean de-aliasing (AOD) model) and Level-2 (gravity models in terms of spherical harmonic coefficients) data as well as documentation, (monthly) newsletters and various project related documentation please follow the link "GRACE-FO Gravity Data and Documentation" on the left hand side. The link “News related to GRACE-FO Gravity Data” provides further useful information on recent Level-1 and Level-2 data distribution.
